Leaf placement is no easy task when painting a loose style floral piece. For this reason I have decided to create a whole tutorial where I paint a simple flower composition and I explain where and how I add leaves.
In general, you want you leaves to frame the flowers you have painted. I usually start to paint the main flowers first, and then I add leaves as I progress with the painting or at the end.
